Whirling Dervishes

Experience the mesmerizing Whirling Dervishes Ceremony, a sacred ritual that has been performed for nearly eight centuries. Originating from the teachings of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, this unique spiritual dance symbolizes the connection between humanity and the divine — one hand raised to receive blessings from the Creator, the other extended toward the earth to share them with all creation.

The ceremony takes place inside the 13th-century Saruhan Caravanserai, a beautifully preserved example of Seljuk architecture that once served as a rest stop for travelers along the ancient Silk Road.

Your evening begins with hotel pickup at 20:15, followed by a short drive to Saruhan Caravanserai. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a brief guided introduction to the history of the building and have free time to explore and take photos.

At 21:00, the one-hour Sema ceremony begins, offering a serene and deeply spiritual experience. Afterward, enjoy a traditional “Sherbet”, a warm honey-and-spice drink, before returning to your hotel at approximately 22:00.
